Flora of the Andes (excluding Patagonia)

The flora of the Andes is particularly rich and comprises nulerous spectacular plants which are diffrent from the flora of the Northern hemisphere. The pictures shown here have been taken during various expeditions.

  • expedition in Chile in January 2003 by the Jardin Botanique Alpin du Lautaret (S. Aubert, R. Douzet, R. Hurstel, J. Sarreil-baron);
  • private expeditions in Chile (1995) and Ecuador (1992) (S. Aubert) ;
  • expeditions during bilateral research programms France/Chile ECOS-SUR (I. Till-Bottraud; Ph. Choler) ;
  • expeditions in Vénézuela (A. Gröger).
